I was fishing in the burgundy Javelin boat on Sunday. Feel free to post a pic if you have one. I also work at Bitters. Glad John gave you some solid advice.

No problem Speckanator. We'll see each other sooner or later on the water.

I'll post pics of the boats I saw tomorrow, tired going to bed.

Put a thread up about the Minn Kota V2 install if anyone's interested. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-...ing-motor-rig/

Was out on Monroe installing and testing out the new trolling motor and Driftmaster rod holders. Both work great. I'm not sure if it was wind direction but I seemed to drain the battery down further than I normally do on the bow mounted trolling motor vs the smaller transom mounted trolling motor. The only thing I can think of is that the up and down movement on the bow might waste more energy.

Lake Monroe wasn't as active as it has been for me today. Still made out pretty well with about 25 total caught and maybe 10-12 keepers. . Going to count what's in the cooler when I get back home after work. I also ended up returning a lot of medium fish that I've kept in the past since I don't want to burn the family out on fish. I also caught a small stripe bass but he was only about 8"-9". Let him go and told him to send his mommy or daddy to me. Anyone ever caught a big striped bass trolling Monroe for specks? I was thinking of setting up a heavier pole with a shad lure on there and just waiting it out, maybe might get the eventual strike one outing.

Surprised you caught one..............usually you catch about 6 or 8 before you can get your lines in and get out of the area.....they'll mess you up!! Over around Stone island is probably the best striper area.....biggest I've caught was maybe 15" or 16".......a good fight!!

I was hoping they'd have some really big ones. I've caught a couple really big ones up in NY with my parents.
