    Default Warming up.

I did like Doc, my son a I took a trip today to check out the boat and for me to warm up. Well warm up we did. We both caught our limit and was it fun. It's been years since I've caught a limit. We ended up with each our ten fish plus a catfish. Oh,,,,,,,,,,,, did I say they were bass. I forgot that little detail. Anyway we had a great day on the water. After picking up 2 small sacs, whole fryers, we noticed bass busting shad. We eased down the bank to where they were and starting casting. Couldn't get a bite until we put on some roadrunners. WhamO, the fight was on with my first cast. I was using a chartreuse pony head with a limetreuse shad body. It was great fun chasing them. We lost way more than we caught. Those were the hardest hitting fish I think I've ever run into. They'd hit the bait so hard to almost pull the rod from our grasp and the starting jumping like crazy which is why we lost so many. They weren't the largest but boy did they give us our monies worth. The weather was beautiful and it was great to fish it with my son. Tomorrow I will double check the trailer and the rods and tackle. We will leave Thursday around noon and hope to arrive at cabin # 7 for 6 PM. Friday we will fish and then move into cabin # 8 for Friday and Saturday. When we decided to book for Thursday also, cabin 8 was book just Thursday night so we will be next door for one night.

The shad were so thick that I hooked one on my bait and when I turned to show my son he pulls one out just like mine.

Congratulations Mr Gene. Hey they may not be crappie, but they are almost as good to eat and are just as fun to catch, especially when they are schooling like that.
