"I wish I knew why the bn always is shaper? Same in the Matzua."
The bronzing and colored [red, blue, etc.] hook coatings are applied AFTER the hooks are sharpened. The black nickel is a metal and can be sharpened after it is applied.

Got my samples yesterday, asked for bronze, and black nickel . Right out of the gate, quality, does stand out. The bronze price 1000 is great 17.00 and some change. I wish I knew why the bn always is shaper? Same in the Matzua. I believe now I WILL change brands. I'm over all the issues I've had in the past with Matzua. Later LB got #4-2 sizes for this test.

The thing with certain people they are stuck on a color! One guy I know only uses the bronze colors won't use anything else? When I look at a hook I want the sharpest hook I can find! Wasn't until I found the sickle hook did I notice while long trolling I lost less fish? So naturally I went with the sharpest hook the. On top of that the wide gap makes a difference ! Just my .02

Thanks for the report!!
Is there a link to a supplier or an address or something? I'd like to try them In my Lil Midget molds as the Matzua sickles are a bit thick.

They're the old Lil Mac molds - been out for a long time.
I believe it is the gap on the sickle that catches fish I don't think it is how sharp it is you can take a saying wire on a basic jig hook and open it up and you will catch just as many fish the reason why you are not catching a lot of fish on a common jig wire work is because of the gap is so close to the body of the hook if you would open it up a quarter more inch you will find that you will catch more fish myself I do not care for sickle hooks though I do have thousands I still don't like them. it just my two cents worth guys
