    Lots of instructional videos on youtube. Shortens the learning curve to know tried and true methods first and not stumble though things. A lot of fly patterns can transfer to jigs also. Skip does some of that. In fact, Skip does a lot of most everything when it comes to tying.

    Many tying tools can be crafted at home with little expense.
    Left to right: Pens converted to half hitchers, DIY whip finisher,DIY Bodkin,Nails for painting on eyes, and a mini test clip used as a hackle pliers.
    One handy tool not pictured is a metal handle flux brush with the brissels trimmed short used to tease dubbing and clean powered paint from jig eyes.
