Crappie fishing on Lake Chataqua isn't a shadow of what it was 30 years ago, which is why it's not worth the gas to get there for me so I wouldn't have any info to give you.The crappie fishing died out for the most part in the late 90s,Right after the limmits went into play.Lots of finger sized perch the last time I went 5 or 6 years ago.

Well the week at Chautauqua wasn't the best. Big cold front, rain, heavy wind, hard fishing. Sent you a PM with what little info I had. Hope you have great Thanksgiving trip there!!!

I don't fish Chautauqua but if you want to make a 3 hr. road trip I would take you on a walleye fishing trip to onieda lake if weather permits.

Man, I would love that, but I'm already driving a little over 700 miles on Wednesday and another 700 on Sunday. That's more than enough for me.

Got to agree with shadboy, this section of crappie.com specifically the New York section has poor interaction among members. And a lot of questions can be answered with indifference to where they live. Unfortunately there appears to be more lurkers than participating members. Which is hard to understand, first there aren't many money crappie tournaments in the state. Your not being asked specifically to say where they were caught,( by the way, in the mouth, is the number one answer to where did you catch them), ,nor GPS coordinates. The exchange of information helps to increase the success rate of fellow fisherman and future fellow fisherman (inexperienced/first timers) Maybe the moderators can track the number of threads viewed and the number of responses. Need to maintain a 25- 30 % activity response.(just an idea). Reality is there will always be people who take advantage of others. If anyone has a question to ask of me, drop a private message, I'll research your past post(s)then respond accordingly. As for non specific information I will post for everyone to read active members and all you lurkers as well.
