Default Problems with new Humminbird 859 ci hd di

Just put on a new 859 Humminbird at the tm. As soon as you touch the trolling motor foot control, the screen becomes unreadable. I have put on several chokes and filters. I ran new wires to starter battery, still nothing.
Humminbird is sending out a choke.
The trolling motor is a Minn Kota Maxum. Does anyone have a fix?

Lv 2 Fish , get you the da'ducer from rnvinc and you want have that problem. I have one mounted on front of my boat about a foot from troll motor and have zero interference from tm. Only way to go.

No, I have separated all the wires. My trolling motor has the built in transducer, but its not hooked up. Could it still be getting interference from it anyway?

LV 2 FISH here are some pics of the way I have mine set up with the da'ducer. As you can see it is right next to troll motor but has zero interference from it.

The simplest test is to remove the xducer and its cable from the TM and hang the xducer in the water as far away from the TM as possible...

Then step on the TM ...

*If the interference is still present ... The RFI is getting into the system somewhere else ...
*If the interference goes away ...move the xducer closer to the TM in different areas to try and determine where the RFI is getting into the xducer or its cable ...

I have even found that sometimes RFI can even get in the system from a "pinch point" in the xducer cable from a ziptie being too tight...

I have a motorguide, trolling motor that I got best results with a ground wire hooked to the skeg.also I keep the transducer cable tied with zipties, but I keep them real loose.(rickie correct, if you pull the transducer cable in tight against the trolling motor shafts or the wiring harness, it could cause r f issues )
