The Crappie are not attracted to the baitblock ... just the "minnows" in that body of water, and possibly fish like Bluegill & Catfish. The Crappie will come around the baitblock for the sole purpose of feeding on the "minnows" & small fish that gather around it.

Next time you clean fish. Keep the remains- mix with table scraps plus some banana peels. Put in onion sack along with big hunk of Styrofoam. Tie 5ft. Of rope to cinder bock. Sink in 10ft of water. Give it a few days. Works like a charm.

THe use of dog food,either canned or dry will pull in catfish & carp to eat the dog food. They like the sent, and the carp,dogfish & other trash will probably push away your crappie
