I have caught fish pushing at 2 with 1/2 oz weight about a ft in front.
when you say pulling road runners does that mean they are heading out the back of the boat? I got me some new road runners last night too ready to use them
yep.....speed up to run shallow or slow down to go deep.....or you can also run a weight ahead of them

hmmm.....sounds like something I may try this weekend
I usually run Scotts trolling weights three ft ahead of my baits. I have been trying the size 2 Tadpoles trolling weights from Off Shore tackle about five ft. ahead of a bandit 300 and running 30 ft. deep at Bay Springs. You have to go deep there and the Tadpoles work great. You can run them on planer boards also. Off Shore Tackle has a dive chart for this also.
