    Default Class Act

I want to Thank Bird Down for doing Meatgetter and me a HUGE favor on day one of the CM. My cranking battery had died on Thursday, and after I moved the engine cables to the trolling battery, everything looked fine. I charged up the batteries overnight and thought all was good to go--without checking!!!!!

Heading down the lake at 5:30 on Friday morning, I realized that my fish finder didn't work--I had dropped a charger lead on the cranker when I switched the day before and had no electronics, and just enough current to run the nav lights. I called several people that I knew were fishing in our area to see if anyone had some jumper cables, but no one did--except Bird Down. He said he would bring me some when he arrived after getting his bait. Before he got there, I crawled into the bilge and was happy to see that my wires were long enough to reach across to the trolling battery, which usually they don't. Alls Well right? Not quite!!!!!

After we got to our spot a 6, we set up the poles, and I went to get minners. The regulator had worked loose from the oxygen bottle, and we had 3lbs of Dead Bait!!! We scooped em out on the deck and found 6 or 8 live ones. I called Bird Down again, and even tho he had already left the bait shop, he was willing to turn around a bring us some bait. He got to us at 6:55, with both minnows and jumper cables.

It's nice to know that through C.C, the friends we make, may be the friends that save your rear end!!!! Now isn't that what this site is REALLY ALL ABOUT?

Thank You again Jeremy for being a Class Act, and congrats on a great come back on day 2.

Jeremy is a great guy and did very well in the tournament. There was a lot of help going around at this tournament. Toward the end of the last day David and I ran out of minnows but BRM and Meatgetter came to the rescue and helped us out. We appreciate that very much. And Bill I am guarding your minnow floater with my life.

Great stories, Bill and Steve. Bad weekend to have both those problems, but nice to have good Crappie.com friends on the water with you!

I've had that bucket for 20 some odd years. I got it at an old Crappiethon tourney in the early 90's. As nice as your boat is, I wouldn't take it on trade for that floater!!!!!!

he's real proud of that metal bucket. I think it must be a collectors item. I ain't letting it out of my sight. I even have it in the back seat of the car while I'm working.
