    Default Small Jig Head Mold

I would like to pour some jigs in 1/64 and perhaps 1/80 for bream (bluegill) fishing. What mold would you guys recommend?

    Thank

    GF

The problem I'm having with Do-It molds is that they don't offer what I'm looking for at a reasonable price. I am looking at round head molds. Either I can get a mold that makes 1 jig at a time in the size I want for around $30 or a mold that will make 10 0f the size I want at $120. And most of them have no collar. The only one with a round head and a collar is $150. Are there any other mold makers beside Do-It that might have what I am looking for? Or if anyone knows of a Do-It mold that will make at least 2 at a time, please post the model number.

Never seen a DO-IT mold over about 45.00. Where you looking at these molds?
Never mind, I found them. Those are semi custom or custom molds for production work. I would think it would take a lot to make a mold that small with a collar and get it to pour right. You could buy a lot of jig heads for 150.00.

Gill fisher, I would check out Jacobs molds, they are cnc milled and the last ones I bought were 50 bucks each, they were 1/16 and 1/24, I couldn't be happier with them. I think he makes the smaller sizes too. just go to Jacobs molds and click on the jig mold section as he makes soft plastic bait molds too.

Checked Jacobs, they have 1/64 and 1/100 both no collar.

Molds are not cheap and the reason most don't pour their own as it is cheaper to buy the jigheads. $30 to $50 is the norm but still you can't find all the molds you would like to have. This is the reason Jacobs started making molds in the size of 1/24 but now he offers many different sizes but they are $50 + shipping.

I really have fun pouring my Jacobs molds, and for a cut mold they are a bargain. 1/80 and 1/100oz. are super tiny and after using them I don't go lower than 1/64. try some black and yellow kiptail on an unpainted head with red thread for the neck, more black and a little yellow on the bottom, with a crappie nibble under the smallest float you can use, it slays all the panfish around here, crappie too.

I was looking at them small jigs. Remembered a post skip did once about using a gram scale to check jig weights. Jigs that small with a collar seems wouldn't have much head left if they were true to weight. Don't know if I could even tie one on any more.

Know a lot of guys who use those small jig heads with a fly rod. I've sent several buddies from fly boards to the guys here who pour that small. Cheaper to buy or trade for the small sizes.
