    Default perch

    Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to find bigger perch. I live I Oregon. Yep one of them Northerners. lol The lake I fish has tons of perch. Al I can find are the dinks. I am sure there are some nice perch there but they are good at evading me. am a 73 year old newbie. lol I got back into crappie fishing a few years go. Crappie was my first love a I think it will be my last as well. I have taken a little detour with the perch. I hate to admit it but they are driving crazier.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've caught my larger ones with the same strategy I catch the small ones with. Law of averages is my way of thinking. But then again I'm sure the larger ones have some specifics behaviors.

Right now, we're catching them in the deep waters of lake erie. They're down as deep as 70ft and feeding like crazy. Check the deep water on the lake you're fishing, with your electronics. The perch will be on or just above bottom. Here's some i got thursday.

Im sure that the big ones will bite the same. There are so many little ones that they don't get to it often. I was wondering if they schooled by size. If so what structure the larger ones prefer. I know there are 12 to 14 inch perch in the lake but I so far am stuck at 4 to 6 inchers.
    Thanks for the help.

Awesome catch. haven't tried the deep water yet. The are some 60 to90 ft. spots in the lake. I have no problem spotting the perch with electronics. They do hug the bottom. I will sure check that out.

Thanks' so much for the help

In my experiences I've caught the larger ones in less numbers which means they aren't around all the small ones. But I've caught them the same way with the same baits etc.....

Fish deep, let bait settle to the bottom, drag the bottom while retrieving, try a sabicki rig baited with minnows.
