Catching them is one thing. What impresses me most is his willingness to help other folks catch them too. That puts him on another level IMHO.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Thanks Guys...Some other points with this rig is if your fishing shallower 1-3 feet of water per-say move your split shot about 4-5 inches above the jig. If your in water say 4 feet plus move your split shot about a foot above the jig, unless your trying to pitch into tight cover with deeper water then keep the split closer to the jig this able you to pitch into tight/low hanging places with more accuracy. Keep your split shot just loose enuff to hold the bobber up but still allow you to run your rod tip down the rig to get snags out. I am using a 1/32 Oz head here but a heavier head can eliminate the use of a split altogether.
Most often your retrieve should be slowWWWW. When you pitch into cover let the bobber come to a rest and allow all ripples to evaporate from around the bobber and to give time for the line to slide back through the slip bobber. Even if there is wind let it set for a few seconds before retrieving. Your retrieve should just be enuff to gradually start the bobber back to you. Allot of strikes will come just as the bobber settles. I also love to give the line a quick pop with the rod tip every 10-15 seconds which also triggers some vicious strikes. Some times they just cant stand to see that jig suddenly pop up suddenly 4-6 inches in front of their faces. This is what I did to catch most of these fish. Slow gentle retrieve, sudden pop of the jig equals a sudden thump on the bobber. Good Luck and add this rig to your arsenal...I think you won't be sorry.
Always remember set the hook immediately when you see the bobber strike when jig fishing with a bobber.

I'm having a bit of trouble (not always) with Power Pro braided line, and the shot slipping all the time. No matter how tight I cinch it down with needle nose, it slips down to the hook eventually. I always like the hook to hang free, but this line is slick or something. I like it cause I don't have to re-tie all day, but it sure like to wrap around every rod eye.
I tell ya what. I'd pay to go sit in the back of the boat and watch you, and not even fish myself. Seriously, you got it mastered!
