Finally made a trip over there. Got there about 1:00 and fished till dark. It was slow, but caught 8 wp, bunch of bream (mostly small but several keepers), and lots of lite bass. Most were on a curly tail electric chicken grub on a black head. About 7' deep in 9-12 fow. Caught around the port and diamond t. If anyone is looking to catch some bream they could mop up there with some crickets right now.

I have been wanting to fish that lake for years. Maybe one day I'll get out of CCC rut
thanks for posting![]()
Good Job man.. Key is to locate brush piles. I caught a good mess there Saturday morning, drift along with a jig, find a pile, throw a buoy marker and then fish shiners under a slip bobber till they quit biting then move along to the next one. I think Im goin to Kepler Sunday. No reports but its drawn down and I just got a good feelin.![]()
The salvinia was bad in places like up Skinner Slough. Not bad at all from there to past the port which is mainly where I stayed. I talked to a nice feller who showed me where a brush pile was near the port. He caught a few there yesterday.
Kepler is a place I've always wanted to go but never been. May have to make a trip there too. I just like going different places and if I catch anything that's just a bonus.
Once you go to Kepler its all you can think about. Very little fishing pressure, standing timber everywhere. Literally - the whole lake. Minus the dam area. Clear spring fed lake. ALmost the whole south end is 16-20 ft deep. I caught 2 over 2 lbs there at the dam in February so theyre in there. The water is very low now so I want to go and put my eyes on the "channel" ..Its very elusive when the water is up. Dangerous body of water with all the stumps and timber. But you know there has to be multitudes of giants in there. I intend to introduce myself to a mess of em Sunday.

I've heard of people catching them at night out there too around a bridge or maybe the dam not sure which.
I just read that recently as well. Good article..if you like bass fishing...My boss lives right by the lake so Im sure he'll be glad Im giving away the secret. But he's a trash(bass) fisherman. A few more perch jerkers wont hurt him any.![]()
