I have decided to take a day off and go fishing tomorrow. I have not seen many posts from north Louisiana that are close enough for me to drive so I will be going in the dark, so to speak. I am thinking of going to either Lake D'Arbonne or putting in off of Whites Ferry Road, in West Monroe, and fish Bayou D'Arbonne between the bridge and the "bean field." I could also slip out to the Ouachita River if I put in on the Bayou.
I'll let ya'll know how I do.

Good luck Pastor hope you load the boat!
Good luck
Pastor I can't help you with any reports but I can wish you well. May the waters you fish give up enough fish to stink up the grease.

Well, me and my dog, Socks, hit the water this morning on D'Arbonne Bayou just outside of West Monroe. We put in at the old Joe Bob's restaurant. It was a beautiful morning, only about 77 degrees when we arrived. We got the boat in the water and run up the bayou just a couple of minutes to one of my old honey holes. Nothing, not even a bump. Moved on to another old spot. Nothing. Changed jig color. Still nothing. Moved to another old honey hole. Nothing. Changed the weight of my jig from 1/16th to 1/32nd thinking maybe a slower falling bait might entice them. Still nothing except one small goggle eye. Then I got an emergency phone call and me and Socks had to leave. I talked to a couple of other fishermen and they weren't having much more luck than me; one of them had 2 small crappie, the other guy had zero just like me.
Oh well, there is always next time. I probably left 30 or 40 crappie in Bayou D'Arbonne that I can catch next time. LOL. Plus, I didn't get totally skunked, I caught my very first goggle eye out of my new boat. I can't wait to go again.
God speed and good fishing to all of you. Hope to see you at the D'Arbonne "Gathering."

Sorry to hear that you didn't hurt them but I like you attitude (I probably left 30 or 40 crappie in Bayou D'Arbonne that I can catch next time). Glad you got out to ride in the new boat.
