    Default The Bonne Idee was good to me


    Had a good morning. Started at daylight fishing with one hand and swatting skeeters with the other, quit at 11:30 with 25 crappie. Started off the morning swimming a 32nd oz pink/blk/chrt and a pink/red/chrt jig over top of submerged tree tops. That worked well till the sun got high then found some under the docks. On the way out I saw something interesting. I wonder if you can tell what it is from the first pic....

    Could be wrong but I thought it was a bee hive, it was up the tree bout 25ft. If you look close in the very last pic you can see it on the right side of the tree. I was going up stream when I took that pic but didn't see that nest till I came back through

    Probably is bees.....thinking about it I have never seen a hornets nest over about head high sitting on a tractor lol

    Looks like a good trip to me! Only bass fished on the Bonne Idee, but I remember seeing some pretty good looking perch holes. Guess I need to make a trip again. Sure was a pretty place.

    20watt, that is a honey bee nest or hive. I just happen to see one like that last week end also. It is hanging in an old oak tree at Manresa House of Retreat in Convent, LA. There is where I've spent my Labor Day weekends for the last 37 years, a great place.
