I'd say if they do come out with a gen 3 it'll be announced in December and they'll be available after the first of the year. The RUMORS that I've read are saying CHIRP will be standard.

I am hearing the same about CHIRP and that it won't be cheap. Thanks for your help. Go Louisville! Been a fan since they were in the MVC with Tulsa back in the day of Wes Unseld.

I heard they are hitting the streets 2nd week of November.

Uh oh. I just told my son in law to pull the trigger on a new Gen 2. Thanks for this information rumor! I will see if I can head him off from 9000 miles away where I am living in the Philippines til February.

Thanks Hawk- marital crises averted- son in law has not purchased the unit yet so we will delay the big purchase until at least November 17 and see if the old fashioned Gen 2's go bargain basement. Maybe we can pick one up at the dDollar Store!
