Thread: shallow today

man were the fish shallow today. i started probing deep wood(my usual haunt) but came up empty. one tree i tried, i probed all the way to the bank. i found them holding in 6ft on bottom. once i consentrated on that zone i found fish at most of my stops. ended up with maybe 20 or so. the biggest wast a pair of 13s the rest were 10-12s. fished a 2" brown w/orange tail power grub on a 1/8th jig. also caught a couple small lm bass and a rocko that went 12". going out again tonight for a few more thumps then some catfish action, aafter dark.

last evening was slow for crappie but bass were on good again. i managed a few runt craps for cat bait and got a mess of them. cleaned 12 -16"-22"ers. i hit it at 6:30 this morning. bite was still slow water even muddier. had to work for the 8 keepers i got. nothing over 12" accept a couple of bass. 1 carp i snagged in the tail gave me a ride in the timber. lol
