    Default Cooler 50 qt

I know a bunch of you guys have many different brands of coolers. I am tired of the cheap models. I have a yeti for my drinks and really like it. I am in the market for a larger cooler to hold my deer or fish when needed. What do you guys have and lights on them. Good or bad.

They've done comparison tests on all of the big name brand coolers side by side JW. Google the results of the heads up competition on high end coolers.

They are all about the same. Very durable but heavy. K2, Engel, Orca, Yeti....Coleman even has a roto molded one now also.

JW, read a couple of different cooler tests. In the test conditions the Coleman Extreme ranked right up there with the best. I have one and it does a pretty good job for keeping ice in hot weather. I am sure the others might be some better but for keeping fish during a fishing trip the Coleman is well worth it. Another thing for me is the weight of the higher end ones. I would sure try to find some reviews on that new Coleman. 200 verses 500 is a big difference.

I gave 60 bucks 8 years ago for a 60 qt Igloo Max Cool. It will keep ice for a week out in the hot sun without out pre cooling with two bags of ice and keeping in the shade etc like Yeti and K2 recommend doing. This cooler has been treated rough and sat on and everything else and is still going strong.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I have a small Engel for lunch and drinks, it also doubles as a step for people to board my boat at the ramp. I use a wheeled 70 qt Igloo for my fish. I generally clean my fish at the end of the day, and don't need to protect my catch from bears.
