    Default 8/23 Wateree Sunrise - 4pm

Welp I decided to slip the boat in just at sunrise to see what I could muster before the devil sun decided to krispy fry me. (Like I need to get any darker)

The Water level was up about 2-3 feet. Water temp ranged from 84-89 location depending in 4-17ftow. This had me wondering if a spot I had scouted would still hold fish fully submerged or not

So grabbed some nightcrawlers XXL red worms and set out. I had found a nice brush pile only maybe 30yrds from the DNR fish attractant so I tried my luck. And boy, after finding this spot (and the next) I feel stupid that I didn't play the lotto today.

Before I continue, I met the nicest elderly woman that was sitting on the dock. Found out it was her and her nephew (she was easily in her mid 70's and he was in his mid 40's he said) They hadn't gotten so much as a nibble. I told them that the dock at the time was going to be terrible fishing and if they wanted i could ferry them to one of the honey holes I found for bream. They obliged however I went to scout ahead first and ended up filling a 5gal bucket of 8-10in bream 1/2 full in 10 mins. When they asked if the area is ok, I just smirked and dumped my bucket into hers. She proceeded to give me a mouthful of colorful language for not letting her catch them herself! :D But she was overly grateful. I tied off and we played with baitfish under the dock and shot the breeze for an hour or so. Great time, great conversation.

Having said that I went alone to the place I had seen the brush and the fish finder showed me +3ftow more than the previous week. I wasn't very sure it would hold fish... Boy was I wrong! the worm couldn't hit the water fast enough! I fished this spot for better part of 45min until I ran out of worms! They wouldn't play nicely with the jigs so I called in reinforcements. The kind old lady was going to the bait shop for ice and drinks. I hitched a ride and got another batch of XXL redworms and return to the spot. They were still hot! All in all it was an AMAZING morning for bream! The lovely lady took homey approx 30 nice sized bream, and I took home about 15 myself. Amazing morning. I kept a few of the smaller ones because they swallowed the hook, so they would die anyway. My neighbor seems to not care about size as long as they are about the size of your hand or better!

This is actually the 2nd time I cleaned out those two spots on wateree! Last time I caught a nice cat as well! This was the first time my aunt had gone fishing! She refused to throw ANYTHING back. It was quite comical.

I went on 8/13 as well at dusk

That's a great report! Brings back a lot of fond memories. Have eaten my body weight several times over in crispy bream and channel cats.
