I kidnapped him but nobody would pay any ransom so I had to take him along. Between the two of us, I gave that Terrova a workout.

Yea, them cajuns can put creole seasoning on anything and make it taste pretty good. I guess if I'm willing to try Asian carp and like it, I could probably stomach one of those drums.

I never heard them called gaspergoos until some guy from way up north started hanging out in my boat. We tended to call them names Slab wouldn't approve of here.

I call them goo's and whoever catches one has to wear a burger king crown until the next one is caught. We call him the "goo king". BTW the texture and shape is more similar to a black drum than a red drum(redfish) and the taste is oily. My aunt used to cook them and loved them.

We always did call the either Gaspergoo or fresh water drum and I grew up in South East Texas. Catch them here especially if spoon jigging and no never eat the darn things!

I gave one to an old guy one day at Energy Lake because he told me they had two stones in their head. I kept fishing while he dug around (I think behind the eye) and sure enough a couple of minutes later he had dug out two things that looked like stones. Pretty good fighters but give up as quick as any fish in the lake. Throw one up on the bank an they quit trying to get back after a flop or two.
