Default Headed to Oconee in the AM

Leaving around 3am. Should put me on the water at 5:30-6:00 after some eggs and bakey! Gonna start fishing near an Island for some schooling white bass then move to the crappie when the bite stops. Anyone got any suggestions on lures for the white bass? Gonna tight line for the crappie once the sun gets up. Looking to wear out my co-workers arm tomorrow! Can't wait! First time fishing off a boat on Oconee.

Launched out of sugar creek marina with about ten dozen minnows. It was me and two other boats. Had a hard time finding any active fish. Fished around the island south of sugar creek.........nada. Searched in the trees for some fish.........blank. Finally, I decided to longline for awhile to at least cover some water.....caught a few slimers, two white bass, and only 1 dink crappie. May give her a try again in October.

I was one of those boats and will confirm Gabe's story. To make matters worse my TM gave out on me on the water! Hard to sit on a spot like that. Marked lots of fish they just would not eat. I left the dock with 10 dozen minnows and came back in with 11 dozen. Tough day but still had some good laughs on the water. We will be back for a redo.
