    No it was a darn seal. When I fish in Oregon one of the fears is a seal getting your salmon before you can get him in. They are protected, but more than one has had a marble from a slingshot bounced off his head.

    We've lost Salmon to Seal's, Sharks, and one to a Ling Cod. That was in Puget sound and Westport WA in the Ocean fishing for Silvers.

    In Alaska One time we had a Halibut nearly up into the boat. Three guys pulling on it, and suddenly a Blue Shark came up out of the water and grabbed the Halibut in the middle. Right out of the Water!
    The Shark put on such an energetic struggle, he got away with a chunk of Halibut weighting nearly 12 Lbs.
    I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D
