Default Crappie in Edmond, OK ponds?

So over the past few months I caught about a 15" crappie out of a pond in the Clayton Ponds subdivision and a guy that was less than 10" in another one behind a shopping center. But never consistently, always as a by catch of sorts. Does anyone know if any of the bank fishable ponds or lakes in this area hold crappie in good numbers or do you need to head out to Arcadia or Hefner with a boat to catch crappie consistently?

I would focus on the pond where you caught the 15"" and target crappie rather than stumble into them as a by catch. If they are white crappie there are probably numbers in there since WC tend to overpopulate pretty quickly.

Not that I know of as all OKC and surrounding public ponds are way over fished. I have never caught anything over dink size in these ponds. Good for taking kids though.

It was a black crappie I believe. But the pond is open to fishing only for neighborhood residents and their guests so it has some good fish in it. Don't know about an abundance of crappie but I may buy some minnows and put them under a float and see what happens.

Good idea and heck, everything in the pond will go after minnows so you should get to watch the bobber schlunk a lot and that's never a bad thing.
