Default New to crappie.com...looking for night stalk help

Hello all... This is my first post. Newbie. I live in mooresville now and want to learn to night stalk crappie. I grew up on ky lake and have spent many days spider rigging, long-lining, dobbing, etc... I have been out of fishing for awhile since moving to charlotte about 13 years ago. I am back in and been bass fishing quite bit on Norman. I really want to learn to night fish for crappie. It would work well with my schedule. I don't have an issue going to other lakes if it is better. I am not looking for locations necessarily but want somebody to teach me. I have read everything I can find on here and other sites as well. I don't have lights but willing to get them. Does anybody want to do some guiding or know a guide?

Wish I could help you out, I'm new to the whole crappie game myself. I posted a comment the other day wanting a little advise and got several good responses. Seems like a good group of guys around here, I'm sure someone will steer you in the right direction.

Welcome from Conover! Night fishing is a lot of fun if you can handle the staying up late!. There are a lot of posts on here with a lot of good information - search for nightstalk or some variation. Here's a popular guide that will be a big help to get you started: The night was coming on fast as I picked up my fishing partner Gary Kunes at his dock and we set out for a night of Lake Wylie

If you know where the fish are at night, you don't have to have lights, but a good night fishing light will make you more productive overall.

There are a number of video's on Youtube featuring night fishing for crappie. Check some of them out. I use the same rodholders as I do for spider rigging, only I use about half the number of rods.

Now that you have read all the articles, watched all those videos, and probly thinking of how to rig the boat with lights and holders. There is only one thing left to do and that is put the boat in the water, go pick a spot and go fishing!! That is the best way to learn and have fun at the same time, it is the way I would say 99% of us here have done it. You will have good nights and bad nights, but let us know with some reports. Good luck and welcome C.Com!!!
Difference between day and night: Day= one rod, one jig/Night= Many rods & a bucket full of minners
