Love Denver, lived there for a year, under Uncle Sam's supervision. But that route you are travelling through Kansas used to be boring. I disliked it so much I started wondering why Dorthy wanted to leave Oz to go home.

And through Amarillo? It doesn't matter where you are driving in the Texas panhandle - you'll always see road sign that say Amarillo 260 miles. Definitely go to the Big Tex steakhouse on route 66. Denver is real nice, I have an aunt, uncle, and a couple of cousins that live there whom I visit on occasion. Due to the oil and gas business, Lafayette now has a direct flight to Denver. We expect lot's of pictures with that trip!

Looks like a good one Bruce. Linda and I love road trips. We were hoping to visit a friend in Michigan this summer but with her knee and back problems we put it off til next year. Y'all keep it safe and enjoy. Just be back before the fall bite.

Going to see my brother just outside Kansas City (Clinton)......then taking the shortest route to Denver.....we have been all over Colorado many times....it's our favorite place....this will probably be our last trip.....last stop in Colorado is Pagosa Springs (south central Colorada) to see Didi's friend....then going just outside Dallas(Wylie) to see my daughter and granddaughter....then home to see our cat.....

That must be the friend Mae and I met. I like Colorado Springs area. Best football game I ever been to was Air Force/Army at the Air Force Academy. The wildfires a couple years ago just missed them. I second the Big Texan idea. Go there every year on the way to Albuquerque to visit Mae's uncle and aunt.
