    Default thursday am fishing

Went fishibg this past thursday at stoney, was a little worried the bite would be turned off due to the thinderstorms but they were hungry in turbid water. As long as it was weedy and murky i was catching fish jigging. They were all on bottom be it 4 fow or 12 fow. Chartreuse jigs were the killer of the day. I will post pics up later. There was also a guy at the boat launch taking pictures, apparently the park wants to put in a kayak freindly launch site with sand instead of slippery concrete. Woot. It will be to the right of pier so hopefully this comes to fruition.

Good report. I was there Wednesday and got blown off the lake nearly. If any of you guys ever need a windy day for anything just tell me and I'll take that day off to go fishing. It never fails :-)

11 mph winds that day, but it was fun until a guy and his bass boat came on the water. He trolled around with his TM some of the time and when he moved he would crank his motor into high gear. I had to keep a watchful eye and stop fishing and turn into 2-3 foot wake waves or risk being rolled. Some people just have no courtesy.

Yeah really, especially considering that place was a 10mph/no wake lake last time I checked, ... or is it 10hp?

Yea, I dont even know why they allow bass boats in that place. Should have a 10 hp restriction IMO.

That stinks. I fish a couple of different "No wake" or "electric motor" only lakes. I never even put my gas motor in the water. I simply leave it up on trim. Why scare the fish and also wreck the tranquility for everyone else. I need to get a kayak. I have a ton of lakes that I ice fish but cannot get my boat into.

Used to fish that impoundment & surrounding area quite a bit, but when I noticed a few bass tourneys checking in there, it got too crowded/overfished, IMO. The last DNR survey of that place reflected a bit of overharvesting ... still a pleasant place to fish though,

Well, I know this is long overdue. but i finally have a chance to sit down and upload those photos.

It was a fun day. Was using chartreuse GULP 1" minnows too. fish eat that stuff up like kids and halloween candy. Even had a little crappie not even big enough to eat the hook bite.

He was a cute little guy, if a I had a bait tank i definitely would be keeping him in my fishtank but there are always plenty of fish in the sea...lakes

Did not catch too many keepers. kept about a 9" gil, and two crappie. One was about 12" and the other was 15.5". took em home and fried em up and had them buggers for lunch. right now I am looking forward to the C.C michigan camping.

I've seen tournaments held on that lake/impoundment ... they were small tournaments of roughly 7-12 boats, but it was ugly & like watching bumper-cars out there, . It's gotta' be less than an 800 acre body of water. I'd like to see the MetroPark Authority restrict that lake to paddle sports and sails only.
