My mother made those as well, then my sister who lived on 5 acres of our parents property made them after Mom got too old to do it. Beats anything I ever got in the grocery store.

When I get figs, I make some of those too. The trick is getting to the figs before my wife eats them!

Had to grin Shadow. me and Peg both snack on the ripe ones straight off the tree. One of our grand kids 10 yr girl actually stands under the tree searching repeatedly for ripe ones to snack on. T keep telling her "Sha, they all gone until tomorrow but she checks repeatedly during the day. between the birdys trying to avoid the kuttys and snitch some from the very top. Grand kids standing on 5 gallon buckets on tip toe, me and Peggy, shoots far less than half make it to the freezer. It takes all season for us to scrape up enough for jelly.![]()
