    Default El Dorado Crappie

Fished yesterday to see if I could find the summer crappie in the heat. Went out about 12ish and fished till 7ish. Worked some deep brush and caught some small fish early but not the bite I was looking for. Moved up lake to the trees and caught bigger fish. The bite wasn't on fire but enough to keep me fishing. Worked one of my favorite spots where the there is a ledge that goes from 10FOW to 4 FOW and has trees on top. Ended up catching some good ones there. Moved down lake and worked some brush and caught one after another for about 2 hours. Nothing huge but had some nice keepers mixed in with smaller ones. Everywhere we fished, we caught crappie. The brush produced more and the trees had bigger fish. Don't really know how many fish we (2 of us) but we guessed around 75+. Great day to fish and all fish was put back for another day of catching.

O- all fish were caught on 1/4oz jig heads and plastics.

WTG! It sounds like a good summer pattern.
I was out there Saturday evening with my wife, I wanted to try dipping trees for crappie, she wanted to look for walleye. So we fished for walleye and 30 minutes later she boats a 25in walleye. Maybe one of these days i'll get back to crappie fishing.
