    Default Dead Battery...

In Oak Ridge!!!! That makes for a fun evening! Managed 5 fish before the battery died. Got towed into lower Beau Bayou after paddling out of Oak Ridge. Managed to catch 1 more while paddling around waiting for my rescue party. Lol. Left with 6 sacs and 1 bream. Threw back 3 sacs, 2 gars, and 1 bass.

I glad you got rescued with too much problem. That happened to me last week but I was prepared with a set of jumper cables. I jumped the motor from the trolling motor battery and we were on our way. I carry a 20 foot set of cables to make it easy to jump start from another boat if necessary.

I would've just swapped batteries but like a dummy I hadn't put my trolling motor battery back in since my buddy borrowed it. The buy who pulled me into lower beau bayou didn't have enough juice to spin my 115. The guy who came meet me had a 1000 cranking amp that did the trick.

Needless to say both my batteries were charging when I got home.

The older 115 Evenrudes could be rope started if needed. I guess they probably have computers now and require juice.

The motor was originally an evinrude 88 spl but my step father cracked that block. An 88 spl was had to find and since a 115 matched that was used instead. I need to look into acquiring the parts to pull start.
