I though E 85 FlexFuel was 85% ethanol.....both my vehicles are designed for it....its something else...they say the ethanol costs more to produce than gasoline....hard to figure selling cheaper. Oh well diesel is cheaper to refine than gasoline too but they charge more for it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Thank the Midwest members of Congress for this mess. It's completely political.

Yes e 85 is 85% ethanol. It's cheaper because of the subsides they get on it

Like Clfarms1 said, it's 2 things substadies they get and lower taxes. Politics, Politics, did I say POLITICS. Everything I have read says no way in outboards, lawn mowers, or any car not designed for it.

They could make grade 2 ethanol like Brazil does. Use the stalks and sell the grain.

My 08 GMC truck and My 11 Chevy Tahoe have a badge on them saying designed for Flex Fuel E85 ....Now I have read where the Outboards will not handle any over E10....Yamaha says using E15 will destroy the engine. Somebody told me that they were traveling in another state that had E85 and there vehicle was designed for it so they filled up with it because it was a lot cheaper....he said his gas milage dropped way off
