Thread: Wants to learn Sardis

Any color will work on any given day just load up your tackle with a good assortment and let em rip. If wind is going to be above 10 mph in any direction don't bother going to Sardis if you must then I would put in at teckville early boat to the dam then roll the waves back to teckville when you have west wind do the opposite with east wind. Just use common sense and pay attention to storms in the area sardis gets ugly in a matter of a couple minutes and I do mean a couple. Anything over 10 mph I would stay home not worth the hassle.

I live in Byhalia. Have you tried Byhalia road to Hernando and then down I55 to Sardis. Seems the closest way to me if your going up toward the dam area.

I go that way quite a bit if going down to engineers. Lot of times it's just how I feel that morning and what time I leave the house this time of year got to get out before the school busse's. Lot of my trips aren't planned, get up drink couple of cups of coffee and think today would be a good day and just hook up and go.

All good advice above especially about being careful with wind direction and ramps. I've been swamped twice at ramps...once on south side and once on north side. It's probably best to launch at engineers point (sheltered from wind) until you learn the lake. I would recommend hiring a good guide (Carl Painter, John Woods, John Harrison, a few others) to get off to a good start in your learning process....money well spent if you want to learn how to get on the fish quick.
