Default Hard to catch keepers at High Rock...

...or so I thought before last night.......

I've been scouting the navionics wep map , and picked out a couple new spots to try some night fishing. Made the trip up Saturday evening (8/2) with my regular fishing buddy and my son.

Started fishing around 8:30p or so. At 80F, the water was a little on the cooler side with the recent weather.

Between two spots, the three of us caught 151 crappie and one catfish. Out of that, we kept sixty, and threw back at least fifteen more keepers. About half and half minnows vs jigs.

We had a bunch in the 10-12" range, and we all were surprised when I hauled in a HR slab at 14.5"....(No picture of that one, so worthless info, I know, lol).

lol, buddy - I've followed you around before, catching your leftovers...a king doesn't pick up scraps.

Nice catch. It's been said that the size and creel limits will be lifted starting 2015 and you can keep all 151. Nice to hear of a 14.5 fish. Hopefully in the near future you won't have to catch 151 to get one 14.5.

I wish I would have taken a picture of it, but everybody was busy, lol. It was a rough looking fish, though...fins were raggedy and split apart. Seemed to be healthy, though. It took a jig shortly after we got to our spot, we released it. I always try to release the largest ones we catch.
