Size: 133.1 KBLast night Matt and I took my 4 year old monster (flathead catfish) hunting on Lake Conway. While in the boat, he educated Matt and I on everything that he knew about the great outdoors. We saw Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, cormorants, and an Osprey. He did a great job as bait man. We ran the lines at about 11:30. As we were boating out to the lives we jumped a large owl from a tree. We didn't catch any flat head the first time we ran the lines but we did catch 2 channel cats. And as his usual custom, he had to feel there eyes. He loves that for some reason. We also saw about a dozen shooting stars. He was so amped up that he didn't go to bed until about 2:00am. We were supposed to get up at 6:30 to run the lines again, but I couldn't get him up. So Matt had to run the lines him self. This round Matt caught a 9 and a 10 pounder by himself. They were both 32" long. Matt gave them to another angler. So he rid the lake of two more crappie eating machines. All I have to say is that it was a great night that I will remember forever and I am one proud Dad. On a side note, all Limblines were properly labeled and were removed when done fishing.

That is awesome Matt. You son will thank you when he grows up knowing you spent quality time teaching him the love for the outdoors. I love this post. Great job.

Yeah. I don't know if he actually put them on a scale. He did measure them. 32" seems bigger than 10 pounds to me too. It also looks like he has the long arms going. Matt is a limb liner and trot liner. He does it the right way. The problem we have are the people who do not label their gear and leave it out all year. This post is about bringing my son out on his first ever cat fishing trip. We made a memory that will never be forgotten and that's all that matters to me. I can't wait until he is ready to man a 10' rear seat ozark rod. I'm thinking next year when I get my own boat. I can't wait!

Very nice. Thanks for the story and pics. I bet some fisherman was tickled to get those flat heads.
