I would recommend a tohatsu 40 tldi. I have a 648 wareagle ldv. With me 200++ and 300 pounds of batteries I run right around 32mph. Good solid motor. Don’t mess around with trying to get more horse power out of a newer motor. Yes it can be done, but you are taking a couple of big risks. 1 you will lose your warranty secondly I have known plenty of guys whose motors have never ran the same after altering them. Just my opinion. Good luck shopping. BRM wont steer you wrong.

Oh and 600lbs may be overloaded for that boat but how many duck boats have you ever seen that has not exceeded the weight capacities. Pretty much put 1 dog, decoys, a gun and 1 passanger and your over the limit.

Oh one last thing this was number 1000. Still have a long long ways before I ever catch up with RCC and probably will never catch up with BRM.

Get the biggest motor that your boat is rated for! Had a pro fisherman ask "Do you know why I use a 101lb thrust trolling motor? Because thats as big as they make!" Thats when a 101 was as big as they make.

Saw a guy today who was running an 18ft aluma weld tunnel with a 40 Tohatsu with the restrictor plate removed. He left me like I was sitting still. I have an
Alumacraft 165 pro. I run 35mph so he must of been running around 45mph. Big River you are going to sell every one you can get in stock. If I ever have to replace my yamaha that what I will buy.

Yea the old boy said he was scared of it.....lol. He said it will throw that 18ft on a plane in about 2 seconds. He said he is looking at putting a grab handle on it. He said grass and lilies dont hardly phase it once on a plane.

I've got a 1650 Express that had a old 40 hp Johnson.I needed trim and tilt and a better hole shot.Went to a 50 Tohatsu w/ trim and tilt. Great price, came with controls, tach, trim gauge, fuel lines, and water separator filter. All standard. With most brands these are all extra cost.5 yr. warranty.I love it!Talk to BRM and see what he says!
