Default Bell City Drain Ditch 7/30

Fished from 9am to 12pm. Boy the cool weather felt good on the run this morning. Actually was a little chilly. Tried a different approach this morning. I fish points with a pink and chartreuse Road Runner. Boy the sacs and bass love them. I would catch a few and then would throw a shiner in the areas where I caught or had hits. Lol that was the trick today. The stars alined for me. I kept 41 sacs and 3 bass. I bet I threw that many under 8 inches back. Heck I went thru 5 dozen shiners. The fish were suspended on the drop off from 6 to nine feet. This was my second best trip of the year. Best trip for wild fish and not in a pond. I left them biting too. I had 5 go 13 to 14 inches and the rest were 8 to 11 inches. My buddy I talked to was out there today too. He was fishing around me in his boat and maybe caught 10. I was laughing and apologizing at the same time. I told him that my blue boat is camouflaged against the sky......lol. Here are a few pics to enjoy.Name: 20140730_141901_resized.jpg

Its an irrigation canal that runs from Hwy 14 to the ICWW. It has about 6 other canals that connect to it. From the launch to the ICWW is 18 miles as the crow flies on google earth. I need to start running jugs while I am fishing. There are some nice catfish in there too.

I almost was there to meet up with you, but got side tracked to Lacassine. I'll start a thread on that, but only 4 fish.
