Thread: SW VA gills and crackers July 26th

I got to fish my favorite farm pond this AM for 2 hours. Conditions were perfect and the fish were active. I caught about 20 and kept probably 15 that were between 8-9.5". Half were caught on a #4 circle hook, with a small piece of night crawler, drop shot style over a small split shot. Depth was anywhere from 3-8 FOW. The circle hooks worked perfectly. The other half were caught on a homemade cricket under a slip bobber. It's a 1" beetlespin rubber body on a 1/32nd jig head with a few spinner bait skirt legs needled thru the body. They pounded it. I set the bobber at 3 feet. Water temp was 80. Here are some pics.

Nice catch, I think I have that same canoe. No better way to spend a morning.
