Default Cell Phone for Truman Lake

wondering if any of the pre-paid cell phones you buy will work on the lake?

I have a T=mobile phone but it won't get signal except occasionally. Zero signal around Bucksaw area.
    Not looking to change carriers.
I have considered one of the cheap phones for emergency use.

    Suggestions?

I fished the Bucksaw area recently. I have
AT&T and have the same problem...
I don't think any phone works full time on
    that lake..... Sorry

I have regular service through AT&T and it does well on most areas of the lake. Have you thought about emergency radios or something along that line of communication. May be more upfront cost but would not have the monthly fee. If you could get one with minutes that did not expire the cell phone would be perfect.

I know a lot of folks do t like to text but they are much more reliable in that area. Maybe not as good time wise, but a text will eventually find you. I have AT&T and my problem is it rings too much when I am fishing.

Thanks guys for your input. Jared what type of radio are you suggesting? Marine, ham or other?
Jigfisherx I can send a text message but they won't get delivered either. I have received a text a couple of times. Sometimes I have gotten a signal around the mouth of Cedar creek but not consistent.

I think Tomtom might be right that none of them work very well on that lake.

    Still open for suggestions.

Signal is spotty on Osage River and Missouri River also. It is even spotty at our house depending on which room you are in. If the phone companies depended on me for money they would be broke. Phone is never on. Got it for emergencies. Not a big phone talker.
