Default Teaching some old dogs new tricks

Took a couple old timers out on the lake last Thursday a week ago (July 10) to learn jigging for Crappie. Did not get a stringer photo but got them to hold up last 2 they caught using my phone. Said they did not know you could catch Crappie all year long. No minnows harmed on this trip either. Used Southern Pro Walleye tubes in solid glow Chartruse on 1/4 oz jig heads.

Good work CA. You can teach old and new dogs how to jig up some crappie.
I cant find any of those walleye tubes locally. Do I need to order them or do you know a place where I can get them. The Southern Pro distributor told Bates that they were not in stock right now (what ever that means).

Would have never thought you could catch crappie using a 1/4oz jig head until Nimrod showed us you could. Have since caught several crappie several times using them usually on windy days. Thanks Nimrod.
