In the back, behind the first post, is a 5 foot artificial palm tree with colored Christmas lights on it. I liked it so much when I put it up several years ago that it stays there permanently. I plug in the lights when I have guests arrive. I also have one of those cheap, tacky flamingo below that same tree just for fun

Here's one of my wireless weather station. The steps next to it go down about 6 feet to access the garden. Where the limestone ends is another drop roughly 10 feet to the Vermillion River. The river is high in this picture - just took it. Otherwise you couldn't see it, live on the Teche Ridge - high ground.

The mailbox there with the sign is for fun as well. The chicks think I'm cool

Thanks G. Life is good. Ann and I are two peas in a pod that's for sure. As you fellas can probably tell, heavily wooded out here.

I like it....I like the wooded look and also all the crushed stone.....clean look and don't have to mow those areas.

I'll have you know that's # 57 limestone, I'm particular about such things . I pay more but worth it. I keep a beer cooler outside because I am outside all the time when I am at home until it get's dark. Made out of some real old cypress many years ago, very rustic. There's a faucet valve on the side you can't see for draining:

Looks like it's getting low. Saw some at some show a couple of years back, and you wouldn't believe what folks get for something like this. On the left of it is an old claw foot tub with a couple of Koi in it as well as a couple of shiners. Normally the Koi get about 12" long, then the big owls we have take them. Thanks for looking. Life is good.
