    Sounds like your watering after feeding. That is the issue, I feed on one end of the beds and water the other end. Then swap ends the next feed. But then again mine will eat a cup of corn meal per 24 hours.

    My dear departed dad used to dump household garbage on his compost / leaf pile/ worm beds. Just remember potato peelings , coffee grounds, lettuce , fruit , vegetables ,and ect . Just no grease or oils and they will do fine.

    I feed every scrap other than meat/fat/oil/citrus. Stay away from tomatoes, as they will start growing fast in the bedding.
