mrdux....we push these with a three oz weight to control our depth......other wise they would go to the bottom.....we push them same manner as pushing the lipped crankbaits.

Those look great. Just make sure if you have to stop for any reason with those tied on to get them reeled up first.

My point was the lipless baits will sink when forward momentum is stopped. If your weight is in front of the bait on a 3 foot leader and the weight is within 3 feet of the bottom, the bait will be on the bottom when forward motion stops. I hate it when that happens. It won't happen with the lipped cranks that float.

When my tm gets turned on to pull or push, it never turns off until all poles are back in the boat, so shouldn't have a problem with being stopped. But now it will be opposite of floating cranks, inside rods will sink on turns and outside will rise with the change in speed
I usually don't push deep enough to be close to the bottom......but yep what you are saying is true

Are u talking about rattle traps. If so we used to push them off the pontoon
