I've always had good luck with Toon-Brite on my boats. Hasn't turned one white yet.

I got a little white streaking from the wheel cleaner i bought a wally world ( contiained hydrocloric acid ) but all n alll very happy with the results, bought the boat in 08 and this is the first time the aluminum has been cleaned, thought the water stain was permanant, it was almost black. Sprayed the wheel cleaner on and it washaed right off with the hose ( no elbow grease required ). it was Eagle 1 chrome wheel cleaner.

    Default Aluminum boat cleaner

Just saw a guy on Face Novel that polished his older Tracker TX 17 with Maguires aluminum wheel polish and that thing looks like a mirror. He did have to polish it, but zero white coloring. That boat wasn't that shiny new!!!
