Ship, thank you for passing on your knowledge. Just a little more of a push and I will have to try this tying thing out. I have been looking, but not tried it yet. Keep up the positive approach to life.

Hey buddy good stuff again from you! Good to see you post over here again. I still very much appreciate your honesty so much too!
I still have the feeling that I need to share my secrets. Too many still want to know and really I have only kept a few tight to the vest and of course you know the main one. I do think soon the time is coming!

Skip, i do enjoy making the super glow lures, but i do not post or share them. Send me an email and i will send you a preview of the four page article which will be in the Fall 2014 issue of crappie world. You are indeed mentioned in it. I do not post much in the tying forum because i do not tie as much due to arthritis. In fact this is a 2008 thread. I just answered the request for an update. I still check in the jig tying forum to see what you all are creating. I have been handcrafting more soft plastic lures lately again because arthritis prevents me from doing a lot of jig tying.
I will not reveal the glow secrets Skip. You will have to choose when you reveal that one yourself. You will know when the time is right my friend.

If I had all the money I've spent at flea markets and yard sales for cheap effective tying materials I'd have alot of money!!!LOL but I have more fun working on the tackle. Check out the Good Will stores you can sometimes find old furs cheap and cut them up for zonker/cross-cut zonker strips.
Being a fly tyer also I've traded for a bunch of materials I never thought I'd ever tie with. Material Swap box's are an excellent way to try some materials before you buy it.
If you hunt learn how to wash, clean and protect the skins and feathers - myself I'd love to learn how to tan skins.
As Ship said do a search here on the board and start reading!!!!!!!! There was no internet when I was a kid and you had to get a book from the library or have someone teach you how - and even after many years I've learned A LOT here and other boards, changing the way I do things or mixing them together for my needs in the tackle craze. I finally took the plunge and learned how to dye materials, amazing what you can save over store bought stuff.
The knowledge and how-to's are right here, take time to read up on what you want to learn, and if you can't find it ask and you'll be given the information.
Thanks for starting this thread Mike - makes you think back.
