Colors looking really good, but I guess your talking bream and while I like longer tails for crappie, not sure these are not a bit long for bream. Were the ones your catching when using tails this long? Again I do like long tails personally so not trying to pick your post apart or anything like that. Also just FYI I really like the 2nd and 3rd pic much better because the tail ends are natural looking where the first picture has the naturals ends cut off.

Yea. When I head to the rive for Bream I tote a pair of cutters and trim the hair back. If I am going to tip the jig I'll cut em back to the bend in the hook, othe wise I'll leave em a bit longer and work em with a spinner attatched. The last two are my favorite pattern for Crappie.
Thanks for the feed back. I always figure the more you learn the better you get. Of coure the better you get the more there is to learn.

I like the mickey finn knock off and the electric chicken patterns.

Ahhhh the taper of buck tail hair! It's the reason I love fishing bucktail for small mouth bass and the reason I dislike tying it. Stacking those individual hairs can be time consuming depending on the tail. I only tie it on ball collar (tying collar) jig heads size 1/16 oz or larger.
