Default has this been done? braided chenille body jigs...

i tried it but the body came out to fat in spots cause the chenille slid back on the jig body clumping up a tad bit giving a uneven body. any one have luck tying this fly and fishing it yet ? here are direction on how to tie it... link be low ... by the way i figure it would give it a lateral line or a darker back and lighter belly. any thing you guys could add i tried grandpa bobs glow chenille when i tied it at first.. by the way i am sure there are other ways to braid but this one leave lines use the dark on top and light on bottom when the jig head is the right way in the vise. any ways thanks for any input you can give...

Tied lots of flys but still haven't figured out weaving - great step by step instructions are at www.flyanglersonline.com go to advanced tying and there are a couple of different weaves you can try. You can also print them out if you want to.

Here are a couple weaves. All came from FAOL that Fatman linked and mentioned! So yes they have been done and I have done them for a good many years now. Len does some really nice crochet type weaves that look awesome using like larva lace type materials.

    Granny Weave

Bitch Creek Tiger Weave... Both below are Tiger Weave.

Add ome ome more Granny weave and both this one and the first one were 1/32 oz and the 2 Tiger Weaves were 1/16.

thank you skip and fatman i was wondering if any one did weaves? answered that right away. i use to do a lot of stone flies for the river steel heading for stone flies. but i switched up to a few easy patterns and never looked back. reason being you loose so many flies to log jams stumps etc... so i learned to tie my pattern real simple.... like for stone flies i make a black and red pm wiggler etc... etc... simple pattern that are not complicated catch fish.... as you know cause i can tell from you lovely jigs that they catch fish!

anytime that you could incorporate hand-tied flies into jigs is a plus we have done many jigs into different hand-tied fly patterns especially for bluegills and of course the crappie also really go for them also.
