I just saw on the news last night that they have another algae bloom at Marion lake. I think this might be the third year in a row, I know it was shut down last summer because of this.

Lots of people on the lake over the weekend. The swimming beaches were closed off tho. I was boating Friday and Saturday. I didn't jump in but the water cleaned up some when there was wind.
Went out on Marion today... nasty floating green globs in the morning.. went ahead and fished the whole day..I guess the Drum
like the Scum... caught four drum.. was hoping for walleye... a few whites.. and one dink crappie.. long hard day.
As the day went on, the scum patches mostly disappeared. I suspect the patches sink after a while because there were
clouds and clouds suspended on the sonar and down images. Hope it doesn't get bad enough to rob all the oxygen and
kill fish.
One of the drum was good sized.. put up a hell of a fight..happened to have read blogs about drum as an eating fish.
Enough people really liked 'em that we kept filleted 'em. Nice fillets.. my buddy had some for dinner, said they were
very fresh tasting.
Was out for walleye and whites though.. another day
I was on the reservoir last Thursday (6/26). I didn't see any algae on the surface. I caught 4 Walleye (2 keepers), and a bunch of "bait stealing" Drum. Got run off the lake by a storm - wind came up, which made for an exciting trip across the lake to get to the ramp. This is one of the 19" walleye I caught.
