    Default Beat Your Drum

Anyone read Kieth Sutton's article in the Tri Lakes edition of the last Sunday's LR gazette about drum fishing. Says they are good eating, tasting like redfish when properly prepared. I always thought they were trash fish, what do you'all think??

I will admit to keeping them occasionaly. Not much meat for the effort. The body cavity is pretty large compared to other fish. Plus, I cut the red meat out just like I do with stripe or white bass. Otherwise, they eat pretty good as far as I am concerned. DP

I've ate them. They are good blackened. Taste just a bit better than a bass.

It's like my Grampaw used to say about chitterlings. When you get down to eating the guts, it's time to kill another hog.

They have numbered rocks in their head. You can get numbers 1-8. I don't know why they don't have 0 or 9 or double digits.
