George and Tim are good but a lil pricey (imo). If it were me I'd take it to Jimmy Ford out on 51 bypass pass four points on the right. Old ford saw shop building, hes good and fair on his prices...

I got a boat, trailer and motor cheap ($350) because previous owner took out the electric start motor and never replaced it. Was thinking of seeing if it was worth repair or just part it out? Any suggestions? I live in Dyer County, Reelfoot Marine is less than a mile from my house just wanted to ask around. Thanks!

That little 9.9 is a good motor if it don't cost a ton to get it running. Sure need to put a water pump in it while working on it.

Thanks! I'll check out both, I had heard George was pricey but good. Somebody told me there is a place at Reelfoot that isn't too high and does good work but I don't remember who he said it was.
Jimmy Ford is one of the best (IMO) on Johnsons motors, I have had him fix several for me in the past. Don't think Reelfoot marine will work on OMC.

The guy in Tiptonville is Bootsie. Coming from Dburg at the four way turn right like going to lake and he is first Building on left (red) house on one end and shop on the right side cant miss it. He is very reasonable also, I spun a prop bearing in my stainless steel prop and he replaced it for fifty dollars parts and labor...
