The humidity is too high is Louisiana for it to work. Supposedly you need 30% or less humidity for it to have any cooling effect. Any higher than that and it's just a wet towel.

Wow we almost never see 30% humidity here. Lowe's in Lafayette could end up with a bunch of unsatisfied customers if they sell all they have on display.

Went to Amazon to look at the reviews and that made me doubt the process there. How could 107 people be madly in love with it (5 star) and 59 people hate it with passion (1 star)?
The love group were mostly short, euphoric, and seemed canned while the haters had long strong negative opinions. Both groups can't be right.

Some of my golfing buddies have them and I tried one and it is no different than a wet towel. I even bought a couple of Columbia's "Omifreeze" golf shirts.
I think Elwood is correct. I can't tell any difference with the shirts over the quick dry ones that everyone sellls now. That is until you walk into an air conditioned room when you are soaking wet with sweat. Then it does seem the Omnifreeze is really cold, almost uncomfortable.
Never seen the comment about the humidity in any of the ads but we have real high humidity here too and I think it makes them ineffective.
    Just my opinion.

I have one similar to that and our humidity on average is pretty high here. I like it. It seems to help me over a wet towel. I just dip it in the lake, wring out and put around my neck and down front of shirt. It seems to stay cool longer than a towel.

Got one for part of my fathers day and wore it while i mowed today. Thought i would like it and looked like a good idea to keep the sun off your neck but it was uncomfortable to wear and was no cooler to me than a wet towel....

I use 2 and alternate them from the ice chest. It works but not for long. What works good is my safari hat that has a built in fan.
