I had never heard of saugeyes in Dardanelle either sounds like Maumelle.

According to a certain fishries biologist the AGFC policy is suppose to be no stocking Saugeyes in any waters connected to Arkansas River. They will change gene pool of native Sauger. I know they stocked Walleye and Saugeyes both years back in Nimrod. Have not seen one in years. I asked them about why stock Maumelle since it is right by and flows into the Arkansas River ? They either don't follow policy or left hand don't know what right hand is doing!

My mistake on the saugeye. They looked darker than sauger I have caught before which were very blotchy. Anywho now I know and whatever they are bet they will taste good.
